Taking Back the Beach: The Mermaid hosts party Saturday, June 1
The Mermaid Lounge and Liquors, 1204 Estero Blvd., is hosting a “Locals Take Back the Beach Celebration” throughout the day Saturday, June 1, starting at 11 a.m., featuring a live and local DJ, drink specials, outdoor games and plenty more.
“This is a party for all of us locals!” said Lena Neroni, of The Mermaid and Val’s Lounge. “Come join the fun and celebrate the end of season with us.”
DJ JW will spin some tunes, and partiers will have a chance to compete in the bar’s triathlon, where, for $10, two-person teams will play the best dang games of horseshoes, Texas golf and cornhole they can “winners take all, and we’ll also have some other nice prizes,” Lena said.
Sign-up will take place the day of the event, and competitions will go on throughout the day, but feel free to register prior to June 1.
There will also be plenty of drink specials offered both inside and outside that day, and Lena said several picnic benches will be set up in The Mermaid’s courtyard, for those wanting to enjoy the fresh, island air and quiet, out-of-season peacefulness.
