Let’s have a BALL! Annual Surf Club Turkey Testicle Festival Saturday

2 min read

Benefits have been held on our little island community long before it was even founded as its own town. But, one of the most unique of those benefits will be taking place this weekend, Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Surf Club, 1167 Estero Blvd.

For its 10th year in a row, the Surf Club has been serving up hot, deep-fried and tasty turkey testicles for a cause, during its annual Turkey Testicle Festival.

From the hours of 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, enjoy savory homemade batter-fried turkey testicles, along with plenty of other great food and drink specials, while raising funds and canned goods for the local Harry Chapin Food Bank.

“The Butterball turkey farm in North Carolina donates the turkey testicles for free, knowing that the funds raised are going to our local food bank,” said Bruce Cermak, owner of the Surf Club. “It’s always a great time. We’ll be raffling off some turkeys and hams throughout the day, as well as playing chicken BINGO (where bets are placed on a numbered board. The ones who pick the number that the chicken ‘relieves herself’ on is the winner). Maureen is also planning to make some great drink specials, so come down for a nice time to help stock our local food pantry before Thanksgiving.”

Admission the event is $5 or non-perishable donations in that amount, which all goes to the local food bank. Once entering the benefit, you’ll receive a wristband that allows you to receive a nice-sized sampler of turkey testicles, fried in a light, cajun-seasoned batter, with BBQ?and honey mustard sauces.
