Dilapidated homes razed/ lien released

Town of Fort Myers Beach Town Manager Terry Stewart has reported that all of the requirements placed upon the property at 4545 Estero Blvd. (at the corner of Estero and Strandview Ave.) in order to successfully qualify for the lien reduction that was approved by the Town Council last month have been completed.
Asbestos was removed from the property’s two buildings, which were labeled with an Unsafe Structure designation, before a demolition process and final inspection on Nov. 8. The Town received a check in the amount of $16,027.50, after Council approved to negate a very high unpaid lien balance that was placed on the property due to code violations, so that the dilapidated homes could be razed and the matter resolved.
