Gavin’s Ace Hardware to celebrate 25 years tomorrow
Have you ever seen a painting completed to a musical tune in 10 minutes? John Gowdy, renowned artist, will demonstrate this skill on Tuesday, July 31, between 4 and 6 p.m. at Gavin’s Ace Hardware, 16025 San Carlos Blvd., Fort Myers.
The event is part of the hardware store’s 25th anniversary celebration of doing business in the Fort Myers.
The public is invited to the free event to watch the artist and master sand sculptor as he creates his paintings. He is a performance artist and does his art work before an audience, using a spinning canvas, with music in the background. An example of his performance can be seen on You Tube at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNXObBbg25A&feature=related.
Gowdy will be a sand sculptor at the November American Sand Sculpting Championship on Fort Myers Beach. Additional information about Gowdy and the event may be obtained by contacting John Cavada, Gavin’s Ace Hardware, at 466-7777.
