Bonsai Society sets meeting
Bonsai enthusiasts are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Bonsai Society of Southwest Florida, Inc. on Saturday, Aug. 20. The program will feature “Geeks and Freaks,” where members are invited to bring in their oddball or unusual trees for review and critique.
The public is invited to attend the meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. The meeting is held at the Support Personnel Association of Lee County (SPALC) Building at 6281 Metro Plantation Road, Fort Myers. There is no charge for attending and parking is free.
Bonsai is a horticultural art of growing trees in pots. It had its origins in China and Japan. Information about bonsai and the association will be available at the meeting.
