Next time you’re out and about along Fort Myers Beach, be sure to swing by the Swimmin n’ Sunshine beach shop (1801 Estero Blvd., next to Jay’s Hardware), the newest addition to the island, for quality and stylish clothing for all fashions, sizes and price ranges.

The new store offers a great selection of very affordable and stylish clothing, gifts, beach accessories and jewelry for young and old.

“We have quite a collection of higher-quality ladies clothing – much better than normal beachwear, carrying sizes up to 3X,” said shop owner David Thompson. “We have a lot of jewelry – both costume and custom higher-end pieces, many made by local artists. Everything we have here is quality and first-class. We cut no corners.”

Along with sexy and stylish juniors and misses styles from brands like Forever 21 and Derek Heart, Swimmin n’ Sunshine also has fashionable beachwear and sun dresses that are perfect for strolling down the shore or showing off at the next beach party or barbecue.

Fellas, don’t worry. The new shop has a great selection of menswear as well, including a full line of Panama Jack and Tommy Bahama.

“We have many, many Panama Jack and Tommy Bahama pieces, including hats, sunglasses, backpacks and suntan lotion, and we keep our prices very reasonable,” David said.

The new business owner also plans to bring in a wide selection of men’s board shorts and flip-flops for the whole family very soon.

Along with quality clothing, beachwear and jewelry, the shop carries a great selection of fun beach accessories and gifts, like boogie boards, sand pails, tropical artwork, Jelly Watches, glowstick necklaces/bracelets, umbrellas, premier kites, wind socks, beach chairs, bags and towels.

And, a very special service David is proud to offer beach-goers, is Portraits on Canvas. Have you taken some amazing photos while out and about along the beach and really want to show them off?

Swimmin n’ Sunshine’s Portraits on Canvas service takes digital photos from your camera, memory card or CD and prints them on large, wood-framed canvas to your size request.

Just visiting and won’t be able to travel with a large, framed piece of artwork, or want to send your canvassed art to someone up north? No problem! The shop offers shipping services, so your personal artwork can make it back home before you do!

“Our Portraits on Canvas is the perfect custom gift item for families visiting the beach that want to really remember their trip, and it’s great for our local photographers that take so many beautiful photos of our island,” David said. “They make the perfect, personalized gift.”

Come fall, the new shop owner said he’ll be offering tanning services from the shop’s tanning bed, for those that have other things to do besides lounge along the shoreline all day.

The shop has been completely renovated by David and his crew, a full-time contractor and remodeling team, putting two months worth of work into the place before even opening.

“We really cut no corners on this shop,” he said. “Everything we carry is higher quality. These clothing pieces aren’t made from those three-for-$10 T-shirts that fall apart after the first wash. We carry quality pieces that are made to last – and we keep our prices very affordable, carrying sizes from Small up to 3X.”

Summer hours to the all-new Swimmin n’ Sunshine shop are Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

The shop WILL be open this Monday, the Fourth of July, all day, offering thousands of patriotic glow necklaces and bracelets, along with the rest of the shop’s great selection of items.

“I have 1,700 glow necklaces and bracelets available, and we’ll be open all day July 4th, so please come on by and see our new shop,” David said.
