Okay, you’ve had plenty of time to practice, and now it’s time to put all that practice to good use, as the Beach Pub’s annual Mullet Toss is taking off in the air this Sunday, June 19, from noon until the mullet toss us!

During the all-day fund-raiser, which will benefit Rev. Dick Taffle’s VIP after-school program at Beach Elementary School, there will plenty of food, fun, raffles, prizes, giveaways, 50/50s, live music and so much more.

The mullet-tossing competition will be split into three categories: Men, Women and Children – and trophies awarded to the best of each.

Winners will be determined on who can toss the most mullet in the fish basket in a row without missing.

“We’re in our 10th year of Mullet Tosses, and Jeff Bonard of Island Seafood has donated the mullet ever since our first year,” Lou Caleca, Beach Pub co-owner proudly stated. “He told me he’d donate each year for as long as we had the benefit, and he’s stuck to that promise.”

The cost to compete in the Mullet Toss is a donation that goes toward the Kid’s VIP?After-School program at Beach Elementary.

There are also tons of great prizes to raffle off, all donated by local businesses and establishments.

“A big thanks goes out to all of the beach businesses for donating so many great prizes,” Lou said.

Live music will be heard throughout the day, with Steve “The Lucky Dog” Lutke kickin’ it off around noon/1 p.m., followed by the duo Elijah, and then Tommy V.

“I know it’s Father’s Day. But, Dad doesn’t want to go to dinner. Dad wants to throw a mullet, so bring him down,” Lou laughed.

Bring your mullet-tossing skills, bring your dad, toss some fish, have a beer and enjoy some great music and great people this Sunday!
