Physicians’ Primary Care welcomes doctor

Dr. Jon Burdzy has joined the family practice of Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida.

Dr. Burdzy will continue to practice from his Fort Myers office at 7780 Cambridge Manor Place, Suite C, near the intersection of College Parkway and Summerlin Road. He is accepting new patients.

Dr. Burdzy has been in private practice in Fort Myers since 2004 and is board-certified in Family Medicine.

He is a graduate of Purdue University and received his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale. This was followed by an internship in internal medicine at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, MI and a residency in family medicine at Florida Hospital East Orlando.

Upon finishing his residency, he moved to rural Plymouth, NC and served in the National Health Service Corps as a family and emergency room physician. Additionally, he was medical Director of Roanoke Home Health and Hospice, and served on the local board of health.

In addition to his practice, he has worked with Hope Hospice. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Nova Southeastern University and Kansas City University of Medicine and the Biosciences.

Dr. Burdzy is on staff at Lee Memorial Hospital and Health Park Medical Center and has served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and as a member of the hospital’s Credentials and Quality and Standards committees. He is currently President-Elect of the Health Park Medical Staff. He also is medical director of Visiting Nurses Association of Southwest Florida.

He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.

Dr. Burdzy and his wife, Gwenm have two children and live in South Fort Myers.
