Nervous Nellie’s hosts Red Cross relief benefit June 4
Hitting close to home with family in that area, the staff of Nervous Nellie’s, in an effort to help those affected by the recent storms that blew through the Midwest – and by teaming up with the Red Cross – a special benefit titled Help Us Help Them will be held at the 1131 1st St. eatery all day Saturday, June 4.
“One of our bartender’s family was affected by the tornadoes that blew through Joplin, Mo., and we’re hosting this American Red Cross benefit to help all we can,” said Rob DeGennaro, owner of Nervous Nellie’s Crazy Waterfront Eatery.
During the all day fund-raiser, catch live music from such great local bands as Stinkeye, Vytas Vibe, No Way Jose, the Drunk Monkeys and more.
“We’ll be introducing a new signature drink for this fund-raiser called the ‘Neurotic Nellie,’ made up of seven different rums, as well as natural juices,” Rob said. “Proceeds of this drink will go to the benefit.”
Also during the fund-raiser, look forward to bidding on multiple items in the silent auction, featuring original works of Sanibel/Captiva Artist Darryl Pottorf (worth at least $5,000), tickets aboard the Fort Myers Beach Princess and Key West Express, gift certificates to various local restaurants and hot spots, tennis lessons, multiple hotel and resort getaways and more.
Early and late raffles will be held between 5 and 8 p.m. and 8 to 11 p.m., featuring even more great prizes, along with fun specials, prizes and giveaways.
“We want to invite everyone to come out to a great cause,” Rob said.
Plenty of lunch and dinner specials will be offered, as well as happy hour all day long, featuring $2 16-ounce drafts, $2 domestic bottles, $3.95 wells, $3.95 house wines and the release of Sam Adam’s new summer series, including its commemorative 22-ounce glasses.
