Bonsai Society holds spring picnic/auction
Bonsai enthusiasts are invited to attend the Spring Picnic and Auction being held by the Bonsai Society of Southwest Florida, Inc. on Saturday, April 16. The location is at the Community Garden Center on Larchmont Street, one block east of the Edison home laboratory in Fort Myers.
Sales and exhibits will open at 10 a.m.; bonsai and related materials will be available for purchase by the public. An 11 a.m. auction and noon picnic lunch follow. Gates will close at 2 p.m. There is no charge for attending and parking is free.
Bonsai is a horticultural art of growing trees in pots. It had its origins in China and Japan. Information about bonsai and the association will be available at the meeting.
