Yo Taco! New taco station offers healthy, all-natural dishes
Nestled very comfortably along the northern edge of Estero Boulevard (1375 Estero Blvd.), right across from the Lani Kai, the all-new brightly-colored Yo! Taco stand offers patrons fresh food all day and night long at a fabulous price.
Owners Anthony and Lorie LaValle, who also own the Surf Pie pizzeria on Old San Carlos Boulevard, as well as Soul Paddle and Spin-One bicycle taxi, are proud to offer this new little treasure to Fort Myers Beach.
“We’ve been wanting to do this for a year or so, and so glad to finally have it up and running,” Lorie said.
Made from 100 percent beef (that’s right, this ain’t no Taco Bell “meat”) and all-white-meat chicken, Lorie and Tony add their own seasonings to the mix, making the perfect combination of flavor and zest.
They’re also proud to offer all-natural, all-fresh flavor to their Mexicsn dishes, from the tomatoes and cilantro they use to the avocados and onions.
“Everything is fresh. We buy locally and are constantly looking for the perfect avocado for our homemade guacamole, shopping at the Beach Farmer’s Market weekly,” Lorie said.
Along with fresh and homemade guacamole, Yo! Taco offers fresh and homemade pico de gallo and salsa, for the perfect toppings on those tacos and burritos.
Also on the menu, patrons can enjoy nachos, quesadillas and black beans and rice, a perfect dish for you vegans and vegetarians out there.
The 420 Special is a big hit at the restaurant. For $4.20, enjoy two beef tacos and a soda. Boom, out the door, in your stomach, done.
The duo plans to offer other big specials soon, too, including the Blue Menu Treasure Hunt. Yo! Taco’s menu is printed on all types of colored paper. But, there are not many blue ones. Tony will post these treasured blue menus at local resorts, bars and other establishments, and for whomever finds them, they get to enjoy a half-priced menu on Mondays.
On-island delivery is available, or just come by and enjoy dining in at the umbrella-ed tables or hand-built bar, built by Tony and local musician (and carpenter) Dave Collaton.
“We love Fort Myers Beach and so happy to provide this service to people. I love this island,” Lorie said. “And, I want to give a big thank you to the Town of Fort Myers Beach, who has been nothing but helpful and considerate while we were getting our new business off the ground.”
Yo! Taco is open Mondays to Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Ohhhh yeah. Once you’re kicked out of the local bars, stroll on down to Yo! Taco for some tasty late-night snacks.
“It’s so cheap, everyone can afford it!” Tony said.
Starting March 1, for season, Yo! Taco will most likely be open most days until 3 a.m., and they’re looking to have a beer and wine license very soon. (Tony and Lorie are big fans of homemade sangria, and can’t wait to offer it to Yo! Taco patrons.)
“It’s great casual, all-natural dining at a great price,” Lorie concluded. “Come and see us, bring your dog.”
