Burroughs Home offers additional tea time date
Chocolate is popular, and so is the Tuesday Teatime “For Dark Chocolate Lovers Only” at the Burroughs Home, Fort Myers. Since two sessions of the Feb. 15 event were sold out, a new session has been added: Thursday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. The cost for this session is $28.00.
Other Tuesday Teatimes scheduled include the March 1, 1:00 p.m., session of “Mr. President, How Long Must Women Wait?” This is an historical program with tea being served. You can celebrate Women’s History Month while taking an amusing and dramatic look at the daring and charismatic Alice Paul, who organized the first examples of civil disobedience in our country. The cost for this session is $25.
“Tisanes to Tickle Your Fancy” will be offered on both Tuesday, March 15, and Wednesday, March 16. The 1 p.m. program will explain the difference between a tea and a tisane. You will learn the difference as well as the health possibilities tisanes has to offer while sampling five different styles. The cost is $28.
All the teatime programs are presented by Beach resident Laurie Nienhaus, founder of the Ladies’ Tea Guild. The Burroughs Home, on the banks of the Caloosahatchee in the River District of Fort Myers, is one of the premier historic homes of Fort Myers. It is the home of the Uncommon Friends Foundation.
