Proudly ready for their second annual event, the communities of Main Street on San Carlos Island are eagerly coming together yet again for their second annual Main Street Bazaar, Business and Yard Sale, taking place Saturday, Jan. 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This is the perfect opportunity to come on down, peruse the many different communities and special offerings that residents and business owners will have, stay for some live music, coffee, donuts, pancake breakfasts and lunch that many of the clubhouses will offer, and enjoy finding some great bargains and deals along the way.

“This is a great way to visit and get to know all of our great businesses and residences of our Main Street community,” said Bill Arendt, co-organizer of the annual event.

Last year, Bill estimated about 800 to 900 visitors came to the Main Street community during their bazaar, and anticipates just as many this year.

“Many of our Main Street businesses will have special offers, sales and discounts that day, from fresh shrimp and seafood to Key West Express excursions,” he said.

Private residents will be offering anything from collectibles, antiques and knick knacks to clothing, home goods, electronics, books, jewelry and so much more.

Bake sales and special lunches will be offered at several of the community clubhouses, and live music from the Boat Lizards will be heard at the Port Carlos Cove clubhouse, from 10 a.m. to noon.

“Plus, with so many great seafood specials, be sure to bring a cooler for all of these fabulous deals,” Bill said. “Parking was a little of a hassle last time, but this year, we have plenty of room in the big lot of Port Carlos Cove, near the clubhouse, and in the Salty Sam’s lot, if you’re having trouble finding a spot.”

At the right, you’ll find a list of communities and businesses offering something special that day. Keep in mind the businesses will be offering their specials all day, not just during the hours of the bazaar. And, as we are still a week or so out from the sale, details to other Main Street communities will pop up along the way.

“Come to our second annual sale and find that treasure you’ve been looking for,” Bill concluded. “Join in on the fun and entertainment. It’s a great time for the whole family!”
