MRTF Work In Progress Report
Marine Resources Task Force Following is a list and update on each. MRTF welcomes direction from Town Council on any of these issues.
Recycling Bins at Beach Accesses The Public Works Departments is monitoring the three recycling bins at the Avenue C, Strandview Avenue and Dakota beach accesses for usage. MRTF has still not received a status report from the Public Works Department on this project.
MRTF Projects for 2011 MRTF agreed to work on the following projects this year:
Adopt-A-Beach Program
Mobile educational outreach displays for special events
Distributing the pamphlet “Your Guide To Seagrass and Its Importance”
Publicizing the need to dredge the entrance channels to Big Carlos Pass and New Pass
In addition, MRTF will have guest speakers at the February, March and April meetings covering the topics of monitoring water quality, the bird nesting stewardship program and storm water management alternatives for homeowners and condominium owners.
