Realtor association announces 2011 board

The Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach Inc.. has announced its 2011 board of directors.

At the recent annual meeting, outgoing President Christie Knight of Preferred Choice Realty announced the results of the recent election for the 2011 board of directors.

Elected to office are the following individuals:

n Gary Verwilt has been elected as 2011 president. He is the manager of Realty Executives of Southwest Florida and holds the GRI, SRES and “At Home with Diversity” designations. He has been chair of the Public Policy and RPAC committees, treasurer and president-elect of the association, and serves the Greater Fort Myers Com-munity as a member of the Sustainable Lee and Recon-necting Lee committees.

n Marion Briggs, is the 2011 president-elect. A Florida Realtor since 1981, she is the broker for Sun Country Realty of Florida and serves on the Affordable / Attainable Housing and Public Policy committees, and was secretary of the board this past year. She recently graduated from the Florida Realtors Leadership Academy and serves the Greater Fort Myers Community as a board member for the Home Ownership Resource Center and participates with the Lee County Affordable Housing Commit-tee.

The other officers for 2011 are Doreen Falcone, treasurer, Prudential Florida Realty; John Toney, secretary, Sun Coast Global Realty; and Christie Knight, past president, Preferred Choice Realty. Additionally, the following individuals have been elected to serve a two-year term as directors on the board: Brad Cohan, Real Living Cypress Realty; Gwen Martin, Century 21 Sunbelt Realty; Deborah Murray, Exit Platinum Realty and James Williamson, RE/MAX Realty Team.

Craig Dorfman of Pruden-tial Florida Realty, along with the following incumbent directors, will serve a one-year term: Jim Maginness, Exit Platinum Realty; Cindy Roberts, Realty World Roberts and Karen Swanbeck, Coldwell Banker Residential Realty.

The installation of the officers and board of directors will take place on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club.

The Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach Inc. is a member-based organization of 4,600 members founded 86 years ago. As a Community of Realtor Excellence, the association is dedicated to serving current and future property owners as it believes that home ownership is the essence of a great community.
