Lee VCB reports tourism increase and selects chairman
The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel hosted nearly 175,000 visitors who spent $120 million during the month of October 2010, Davidson-Peterson Associates reported recently to the Lee County Tourist Development Council. Total visitation was up by 23.7 percent from October 2009, and total visitor expenditures increased by 3.1 percent. Year-to-date, visitation is up 2.6 percent.
The Lee County Board of County Commissioners has appointed Commissioner Frank Mann (r) as chairman of the TDC effective Dec. 10. Mann serves as the chairman of the Lee County BOCC and the Lee County Port Authority.
