MELISSA SCHNEIDER The all-new Hurricane Harry’s Barbecue, Burgers and Brew is ready to open to the public Wednesday. The staff is proud to offer a fresh and bright atmosphere that is family-friendly and fun for all.

Joe Barnett and his staff of Hurricane Harry’s Barbecue, Burgers and Brew, the all-new family-friendly restaurant opening where Warfield’s Steakhouse once operated (19220 San Carlos Blvd.), is proud to offer a brand new establishment to the Fort Myers Beach community, planning to open its doors to the public Wednesday, Nov. 24.

Joe and his team, who have been in the restaurant business for several years, originally from Michigan, gave the building a complete overhaul, from floor to ceiling, modernizing, updating and brightening up the once dim atmosphere.

“Renovations went really well,” Joe said. “All of the changes we made were mainly cosmetic sprucing it up, updating it, changing the dcor, really brightening it up, opening the patio area and making it more family friendly. It’s much brighter, much warmer now.”

Hurricane Harry’s will serve an extensive menu featuring some of the hottest eats around, from burgers and barbecue to fun appetizers like pulled pork nachos and cheery snacks like fried pickles and deep-fried Twinkies, all made fresh.

“We’re really happy to offer a family-friendly environment and be a part of the Fort Myers Beach community,” Joe said. “We’re really looking forward to getting involved with the many events here.”

Live entertainment will be offered in hot spot’s Backroom nightly, and Joe is eager to play all types of music, from rock and country to classic tunes and techno hits.

“We want to offer something for everyone, so everyone can get up, dance and have a really good time,” Joe said. “We’re going to offer live music every night, dancing every evening.”

A special techno night is in the works with the new establishment too, featuring a live DJ spinning the latest and greatest beats and mixes.

Expect to see live and hot music on the stage every night in the Backroom, beginning around 8 p.m.

Food and drink specials will be not only be offered daily, but offered every hour the restaurants open, and reservations are not necessary.

“We want you to just walk on in and enjoy yourself,” Joe said. “One of the things we say here is, happy hour here isn’t a time of day, it’s a way of life. Come in and enjoy it.”

Hours to the all-new Hurricane Harry’s Barbecue, Burgers and Brew are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week. For more information on the all-new island establishment, call 628-1616.
