FMBCF installs officers

The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation held their first dinner meeting of the fall season in October. Formerly the Pilot Club of Fort Myers Beach, the new FMB Community Foundation will draw on Pilot traditions of friendship and service to the community as the mission of the newly formed club.
The October meeting opened the new season with the installation of founding officers, all residents of Fort Myers Beach. In keeping with Pilot traditions and blending with the new community-based focus, the new slate of officers is a blend of new members and those with lengthy Pilot roots. Nancy Mullholland, long time Pilot member and officer, continues to serve as treasurer of the new club. Anita Cereceda, daughter of late island resident and past Pilot president Jo Cereceda, serves as vice president. Three-year Pilot member Kate Duffy presides as president, while one-year Pilot member Dr. Nicole Bennett serves as recording secretary. Rounding out the executive board are Jeanne Butzer, Alicia Steinhagen and Judy Kilburg.
Member Donna Raymond announced the FMB Community Foundation’s first major fundraiser. The festive Mardi Gras-themed Casino Night will be held March 5 at Bay Oaks. Tickets will go on sale in December.
Regular meetings are held from October to May, with Friendship Lunches held monthly year round. For membership or ticket information, please call membership chair, Judy Owen, at 463-4877, or email FMBCommunityFoundation@gmail.com.
