Beach Kiwanis offers scholarship

2 min read

The Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers Beach has college and skilled training scholarships available for those high school students that meet the eligibility requirements. To view the 2010 Initial Scholarship Instructions visit: www.fortmyersbeachkiwanis.org and click on the link provided at the bottom of the home page.

Children and youth have been the priority of all programs and fund raising activities of the FMB Kiwanis Club since being chartered in 1968. For the past 15 years the main source of funds has come from the Thrift Shop. In October 2009, the Thrift Shop moved into its new location at 11050 Summerlin Square Dr. (Summerlin & Pine Ridge corner). Purchasing the new location by the Kiwanis Club of FMB was a leap of faith which the Beach community has supported beyond our imagination.,That monetary support of the community makes it possible for the Kiwanis Club of FMB to continue to provide scholarships. More than 235 college and skilled training scholarships have been given; Fun Run/Walk, Little League, Boy & Girl Scouts, Flag Football, Every Child A Swimmer, and Soccer are just some of the additional activities supported by the Kiwanis Club of FMB. The club has given a total of more than $1.5 million back to the community of Fort Myers Beach.

If students are unable to download the 2010 Initial Scholarship Instructions, they can visit the Thrift Shop or call 454-8090. Renewal Scholarship Instructions are also available at the website or the Thrift Shop.

Donations and purchases from the Kiwanis Club of Ft. Myers Beach Thrift Shop make the scholarships and all the different activities possible. Thank you Fort Myers Beach community for your support.
