Lee VCB releases report

The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau Monthly Tourist Development Council recently released its Report to the Industry.

The January 2010 statistics show that The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel hosted more than 400,000 visitors who spent $282 million while visiting. Total visitation was up 6.2 percent compared with January 2009, and visitation among those staying in paid accommodations increased 10.5 percent. Average occupancy rates dropped slightly year-over-year

(-2.7 percent). Average daily rates continue to be down with a 6.1 percent decrease in January 2010 versus January 2009.
