The Silver Witch
For more than 30 years, the Silver Witch has shined in the light of the island sun, with Kim and Eddie Bridge running the jewelry and gift biz on the beach since the late ’80s.
Located in the quaint little cottage-style shop on Crescent Street (near the McDonald’s), the Silver Witch is a fabulous niche that offers everything from hand-crafted sterling silver pieces to hand-strung beadwear, jewels, baubles, and a little bit of everything in between each one unique.
Eddie is a talented jewelry designer, and although he doesn’t physically make them any longer, many of his designs are still available in the shop including his customized-link chains.
Affordable prices reign at this place, and you can walk away spending as little as $1 to as much as $200 and up. There’s plenty available for anyone’s budget.
Plus, with an additional 30 percent off available, how can you go wrong? (Read on to find out how that’s possible).
The sterling
Sterling silver is the key component of the Silver Witch, and it’s apparent, as the store is bountifully supplied with sterling of all sorts: necklaces, bracelets, anklets, rings, earrings, body jewelry, ear cuffs and chokers it’s all there and more!
Check out some of Kim’s handcrafted shell bracelets and silver-beaded chokers or Eddie’s hand-poured hinged “poison” rings or signature links.
The gems
The Silver Witch has an array of gemstones to complement that perfect piece of sterling.
From citrine, garnet and topaz to amethyst, lapis and onyx, this little jewelry shop has many other unique gems to choose from, such as moonstone, malachite, powa shell, mother of pearl and turquoise.
The other jewelry
As you can see, the Silver Witch has silver jewelry of all sorts. But that’s not all. One big non-silver seller has been Kim’s hemp pieces, woven with beautiful beads and gems. Body jewelry’s been another big seller with the store lately, too, since this shop offers pieces for just $9.
Other forms of non-silver jewelry include crystal pieces, shell pieces and much more.
The specialty gifts
There’re plenty of other goodies within the Silver Witch, aside from just the jewelry aspect.
Take a stroll through the gift shop section and you’ll find groovy patches, calming incense, soothing oils, jewelry boxes, tye dye, hand-designed mirrors, wind chimes, postcards, magnets, silver spoons, pens, handblown glass and more.
One crowd favorite within the gift shop section of the Silver Witch are the cutely crafted coconut husk trolls, each coming with their own historical certificate.
Everyday specials
Kim and Eddie always offer 20 percent off sale items at the shop, and Florida residents can enjoy an additional 10 percent savings on top of that that’s 30 percent off of the already low prices!
No matter what they offer, Kim and Eddie are proud to have a very wide and unique collection of jewelry to choose from.
“We work very hard to not have what other stores have,” Kim said.
“We’ve been here a long time, since 1947,” Eddie said. “We’ve watched the beach kids grow up, we’ve had them work here, go off and become police officers, having kids of their own. We love this place.”
Free gift boxes and wrapping is available, as are simple jewelry repairs, including bead restringing.
Hours to the shop are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more info, call 463-5155.
