New gelato shop opens up in Estero
A brand new gelateria, called Paciugo Italian Gelato, has come to Estero this week, nestled in the Coconut Point Town Center at 23151 Village Shops Way.
The Paciugo (pronounced “pah-choo-go”) gelateria is the Italian version of an ice cream parlor, with more than 250 flavors to choose from and offering a distinctive array of gelato to appeal to every customer’s palate.
The word “gelato” in Italian means “ice cream.” Paciugo is renowned for its authentic, wholesome Italian gelato, prepared by hand every morning with fresh natural ingredients. Based on fourth-generation Italian recipes, Paciugo has faithfully created more than 250 flavors of gelato.
“We are excited to introduce Gulfcoasters to a true Italian delicacy,” said Jennifer Barnes, new owner of the Estero gelateria. “With more than 32 flavors of gelato prepared daily, Italian roast coffee and espresso-based drinks, as well as gelato-based specialty desserts, customers now have a chance to experience La Dolce Vita (an Italian phrase meaning the ‘sweet life’).”
Paciugo, which translates from the dialect of the Italian Riviera as “messy concoction,” gelato is made with whole milk, water or soy. The chilly treat is trans-fat free, preservative free and does not contain cream or high fructose corn syrup.
In addition to gelato, other Paciugo menu items include, frapps (gelato shakes), Affogato al Caff (espresso poured over gelato), frizzante (gelato blended with sparkling San Pellegrino water or sodas) and coffee.
By the way coffee drinkers, Paciugu reps say all coffees are made from 100 percent Arabic, fair trade and all natural beans with a medium-dark roasting.
