SunTrust Bank improving service for visually impaired
SunTrust Bank looks to improve services to the visually impaired.
SunTrust Bank personnel in Fort Myers will soon learn how money-folding can benefit their visually impaired customers.
A local nonprofit organization, the Visually Impaired Persons of Southwest Florida, Inc., will be holding seminars on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 9 a.m. to train bank personnel, as well as the visually impaired, how to fold money. A system of folding each denomination of paper currency helps the customer to hand over the correct amount of money for any transaction and helps the Bank Teller to ensure that the visually impaired individual will not only receive a requested dollar amount, but be able to confirm for himself that he has.
This system of folding money provides a visually impaired person with increased confidence in managing his or her own money.
