Storefronts open on Fort Myers Beach
The last few weeks have brought some new businesses into town.
Fort Myers Beach Sea and Sun Rentals
There’s a new party pontoon in the water.
Fort Myers Beach Sea and Sun Rentals opened two weeks ago in the suite near Snook Harbor.
The rental company offers up kayaks, boats and pontoons for rent, but it does have one rental that is a real playground on water: a double decker pontoon complete with a slide.
“I’ve never came across one like it down here in Florida,” said owner David Siguerado.
The double-decker fits 16 people for a real party.
Siguerado said all his boats are new and ready to sail. He offers half and full day rentals as well as weekly or monthly options. If someone rents for the week or the month, they have the option to store the boat at the rental facility dock or at the property they life.
Siguerado, who has lived on Fort Myers Beach for most of his life, hopes to start up kayaking ecotours of the Back Back soon. The rental store’s location is what sets his business apart from others, he said.
“You can go left out to the Gulf or right into the Back Bay,” he said.
Sea and Sun is open seven days a week from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. For information call 314-5631 or visit ftmyersbeachseaandsun.com
Fort Myers Beach Motors
The iconic pink business front along San Carlos Island will once again get wheels.
Fort Myers Beach Motors is open at the corner of San Carlos Boulevard and Broadway Avenue, in front of B&B Automotive.
Owner Luis Corrales has been in the car business for 20 years, operating in Orlando and now in Fort Myers, and he’s looking forward to the slow-down style of Fort Myers Beach.
“Hopefully I can relax here,” he said.
Corrales will be selling preowned vehicles with low mileage. The dealership will be open Monday through Friday 9 a.m.to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. For information call 887-4394.
Casablanca Cafe
The Lani Kai has opened a coffee shop in its lobby called the Casablanca Cafe. The shop will sell to-go sandwiches and snacks and serve Starbucks coffee drinks.
The cafe opened in the space that once housed Lani Kai’s first bar, which was also called the Casablanca. The food is made in-house.Throughout the cafe, a muralist created black-and-white scenes from the movie, and Lani Kai owner Bob Conidaris and late wife Grace Conidaris make cameos in two scenes.
The cafe is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
