Fort Myers Beach Chamber to host business expo
The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for one of its signature annual events.
The annual business expo draws in service industries, local businesses, non-profits and organizations together to spread information to both each other and the public.
This year’s expo will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, in the Walmart parking lot at 17105 San Carlos Blvd.
As of last week, 30 businesses and organizations had committed to the event, with registration permitted until Jan. 18.
“The goal is to highlight our local businesses and organizations and allow them to showcase themselves to the public, not just to our membership,” said Chamber President Jacki Liszak.
The expo runs from noon to 5 p.m.and will feature complimentary refreshments, raffle prizes and music by local VJ/DJ Musician Tom Fahey.
For the public, it’s a one-stop shop to learn more about what’s available in the area, whether someone needs a AC repairman, wants to join an organization or is looking to be involved in a non-profit, Liszak said. There will be business incentives, door prizes, discounts, giveaways, hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar. Admission to the public is free.
“Thanks to Walmart for their generous offer to let us use their parking lot,” Liszak said.
Interested in signing up? There is still time. Businesses and groups can register until the day before, Wednesday, Jan. 18. If you are a chamber member and would like to participate, the booth cost is $125. Non-member cost is $175 and the cost for non-profits is $75. Businesses can also sponsor the Expo for $150.
Businesses should bring a 10×10 tent, table, chair and a fire extinguisher, but no electricity will be available. Set up runs from 10:30 a.m.to noon the day of the expo. For information go to fortmyersbeachbusinessexpo.com or call 454-7500.
