Sandsculpting volunteers needed
With 10 days of sandsculpting championships ahead, the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to help out.
The 30th Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship returns to Fort Myers Beach beginning Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 27, open from 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. Sculptors from around the world will gather at the beach at the Wyndham Garden Hotel to shape our white sand into masterpieces.
The event brings in around 40,000 throughout the week, said Bud Nocera, Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce president.
Sixteen sculptors will make more than 40 creations. More than 40 vendors have reserves a space at the festival, which includes live music and even sand sculpting lessons for the public.
The Chamber needs volunteers to work shifts from either 10 a.m.to 2 p.m.or 2 p.m.to 6 p.m.throughout 10 days of the championship.
Volunteers get a free t-shirt, lunch, entry to the event and a free pass to come back to the event on another day. For more information please email Rhonda at rhonda@fmbchamber.com.
