Local Grady White boat club supports homeless veterans

1 min read

Fish Tale Marina’s Grady Club raised funds to help a local nonprofit organization assist homeless and low-income veterans in Lee County.

The group gave $1,000 to Hearts and Homes for Veterans, a 501(c)3 nonprofit operated by volunteers. The president of the organization, Don Payton, purchased a warehouse in downtown Fort Myers with plans to converting the building in to a service center for local veterans who are homeless or need assistance, including paperwork help, free dental service, and employment search assistance. H&H also gives away used furniture, appliances and other household and clothing items to low-income veterans who are struggling to maintain their home.
