Grieving for our monies lost

2 min read

To the editor:

Trillions of dollars lost -along with the housing market collapse, and coupled with job losses- has affected Americans everywhere. Folks are confused, devastated and in many instances, desperate.

Add to this slime bags like Bernie Madoff and we find that Americans in great numbers are heading to the therapist’s couch for comfort and salvation. People simply can’t deal with a gutted retirement account, life savings down the drain and, although months have passed since the market meltdown, they still come to grips with the fact that their next egg is fried. Some people can’t get out of the bed in the morning.

Our state of affairs is serious and it appears as if many in Washington don’t recognize the gravity or realize the consequences for decades to come. We did not send pinheads to Washington to involve themselves in endless debates, political posturing and absolute indecision.

What we need is for the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives to stop their ‘business as usual’ child’s play. We’re sick of the maneuvering, the lies and the lack of productiveness. Bottom line, if you can’t fix the job market, the housing situation and the rest of the illss that are destroying the fabric and foundation of American’s lives…if you can’t work together and conduct yourselves professionally with candor and sincerity…then, for all of our sake, do the right thing and resign.

Remember, babbling is not a synonym for serving effectively.
