Miracle Baseball Supports Child Care of Southwest Florida

2 min read

Miracle Professional Baseball and Child Care of Southwest Florida will be joining efforts to inspire young children to read. Baseball players will be participating in the non profit’s literacy program, Leaping Into Literacy. The individual players will read to children at six of the centers operated by the non profit organization, the leading resource for child care in the region. They will come in uniform, bringing mitt, ball and bat for a show-and-tell of their talents to the children.

Leaping Into Literacy is Child Care of Southwest Florida’s newest opportunity to volunteer. It is a program that allows volunteers to read to children between the ages of three and five years of age. The program has been created in an effort to get enrolled children excited about learning to read. To learn more about this program, call Barbara Peck at (239) 425-1064.

Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc. has been helping families in the community for over 40 years. They provide high quality child care in their centers, training for early childhood professionals and support nutrition for children in child care. Child Care of Southwest Florida must rely on the generous donations and volunteer efforts from members of the community, corporations and foundations to build and maintain programs that make a difference to low income children.
