Girl scouts has summer opportunities for girls
Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Inc. still has openings for its summer adventure program. Summer opportunities include resident camp, weekend program, or day camp. Visit www.gsgcf.org or call 800-232-4475 to discover the numerous ways that girls ages 6-17 can enjoy this summer. All programs are open to Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts.
Resident and day camp program at Camp Honi Hanta in Bradenton will run from June 21 through July 24. Each week focuses on a variety of activity themes for different age levels and includes activities such as the ropes course, climbing tower, archeology, science, bike fun and safety, canoeing, kayaking, SCUBA, and the traditional Girl Scout campfires, cookouts, and arts & crafts.
One-day and weekend adventures at Camp Caloosa in North Fort Myers include water fun and games, and a night hike and a campfire. At the Girl Scout Service Center in Fort Myers girls can learn about careers and have lunch with female professionals. (See website for details.)
“Camp 5th Avenue” weekday camp in Naples, for girls entering grades K-5, is currently in session at the Girl Scout House in Cambier Park, 601 Park Street, and will end on August 14. Cost is $150 per week; sibling and multi-week discounts are available. (See website for details.)
