Fort Myers Power Squadron report

2 min read

Fort Myers Power Squadron -America’s #1 boating club- recently submitted the following:

On June 8, the boats took to the seas again. Seven boats departed from I C W marker #12 and set course for Boca Grande Marina on Gasparilla Island. The weather was great and the water was flat all the way across Charlotte Harbor. We were greeted by well-known friendly dock hands who helped us get tied up and tucked in. As always the lovely first mates held a wonderful dock party the first night. The next day we shared golf carts and toured shops, restaurants and the historic light houses on the Island. We met back at the marina for dinner, then played games on the dock until sprinkles of rain chased us to our boats. The third day was another fun day of cruising the tourist shops, lunch and checking out the ice cream shop. The fourth day we said our goodbyes and set our courses for home ports. Water was good and everybody got home safe, happy and ready to go again.

Besides these fun trips we also offer free boating education classes to the public. If you live in Southwest Florida and want to have fun and meet some new friends call Lee Junker at 239-368-9734
