Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection schedule change
Please be advised that all unincorporated areas of Lee County as well as the City of Bonita Springs, and the Town of Fort Myers Beach have garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections delayed for one day the entire week starting Monday, May 25 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
If the regularly scheduled garbage pick up day is Monday, then it will be Tuesday; if it is normally on Tuesday, then it will be Wednesday, Wednesday’s collection is moved to Thursday, Thursday’s collection is moved to Friday, and Friday’s is moved to Saturday.
This schedule is only in effect from May 25 to May 30 , 2009. Regular scheduled collections will resume on Monday, June 1st , 2009.
The Lee County Household Chemical Waste Drop Off facility on 6441 Topaz Court in Fort Myers will also be closed on Monday May 25th in observance of the holiday. Regular operation resumes on Tuesday at 8 am.
