Civic board says thanks to Shamrock
To the editor:
Three cheers for the Shamrock Irish Pub. Those folks did what they promised to do.
Back in April, the Civic Association’s Tidelines reported noise and garbage problems at the Estero Boulevard bar, where neighbors complained of loud music late into the night and the garbage was piled up behind the building in plain site of neighbors and travelers along the boulevard and Del Mar Street.
The property’s owner, Mike Von Plinsky, promised Tidelines back then that he would see that the neighbors no longer were disturbed and that the garbage cans were hidden from view.
He’s delivered on both promises.
Neighbors say they have no more noise problems with the bar. And Von Plinsky constructed a palm and fence enclosure for the garbage.
Thank you, Mike. And thank you visitor John Wickenden for having the courage to alert Tidelines and speak up on behalf of the neighborhood.
With a little help from his Tidelines story, the neighborhood once again has its peace and quiet.
Hopefully, other businesses will be as responsive as this one was to do the right thing for the neighborhoods they share.
