Beautification award winner completes first streetscape project
The Island Pines Recreational Association was awarded the May Beautification Recognition honor by the the Town of Fort Myers Beach/Chamber of Commerce Alliance in the “residential” category.
This property is located at 22700 Estero Boulevard.
Island Pines Community, together with the Estero Island Medical Center, planted 13 foxtail palms, 80 cocoplums, 43 jatropha and 4 orange geiger trees. Though the plantings are still young and obviously not up to their maturity, they are a great start to a good streetscape and greatly enhanced the adjacent property to equal the lush and abundant vegetation already in place.
The Estero Island Garden Club and the Town of Fort Myers Beach completed its “Shades of Fort Myers Beach” educational streetscape booklet in April of 2008 and Island Pines Recreational Association (Captain’s Bay North and South) together with the medical center, was the first to take advantage of the program this year.
The two properties also shared the cost of removing an exotic, invasive Brazillian Pepper tree on the Medical Center property.
Congratulations on both counts and know that the town is cognizant of your landscaping efforts in keeping the Island Pines community superbly landscaped and meticulously groomed with great care and precision.
