Reader places shame on the Associated Press
The Associated Press has deteriorated from an important producer of valuable information to a disseminator of useless slime and spit that is good for nothing more than consuming inches on a printed newspaper page.
Newspapers across the country are failing – not because of a tough economy – but because they have lost their journalistic focus and find themselves filling space with meaningless, useless and, many times, untruthful babble.
Subscribers are departing because the publication is no longer a valuable informational tool.
The stories, over and over again, about the Lt. Governor and his traveling throughout the state are a perfect example. Jeff Kottkamp has proven himself to be a good, giving, sincere, hardworking man who loves God, his state, his job and his family. Factually, Kottkamp is not only a model for all of us to admire, he is a symbol of what goodness is all about.
And the Associated Press – instead of using its resources to pound away at scum like the Madoffs of the world who have destroyed the lives of thousands and instead of helping in the desperate attempt to find solutions for the financial crisis or a cure for cancer – attacks a good man who is laboring to help throughout this state.
Sadly, the Associated Press has deteriorated into a spiteful, childish and useless bunch of buffoons and if newspapers are not more selective in utilizing their material, we will find more closings across the state and nation.
It would not be a waste of space to do a story about Jeff Kottkamp, wrapped around the theme “a man and his goodness.” And it would not be a waste of space to print an apology for hammering in the wrong direction. You will find that doing the right thing is the start of making you more credible and important in the community.
