Beach churches will sponsor day of prayer service

1 min read

The Beach Ministerial Association is sponsoring a local service honoring the 58th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7.

The host church is Beach United Methodist Church located on Bay Street behind the Library. The service begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and will include special music and offerings of prayer for our nation and the world.

Pastor Jeanne Davis and Director of Music Douglas Renfroe – both from Beach United Methodist Church – have planned a powerful celebration of our rich national heritage through music and prayer.

The service will actually be a prayer workshop with instruction through scripture on how to pray. This Judeo-Christian Day of Prayer began in 1952, and its history and development will be presented as well.

This special and important service is open to the public. Anyone wishing to sing in the community-based choir should be in the Sanctuary at 7 p.m.
