Ronn James says ‘thank you’ to residents and visitors

To the editor:

Well, we gave it a shot. We tried to bring life to Times Square and healthy products to all. Our little fruit and vegetable stand was intended to provide for the needs of the locals and for the wonderful visitors which are the lifeblood of our economy.

In case anyone thought we were making a killing, think again. The average bartendar nets more than we did, and we were there seven days a week.

There was no fruit stand on our island and Times Square was centrally located. It just made sense to locate there.

When we presented our idea to Town Hall, they were kind enough to give us a chance. After all, the more people coming to the square, the greater the opportunity for the others to sell their products.

We would like to personally thank the other businesses in the square that realized we were an asset to all. Pierside, Kilwins, Citrolas, Wahoo Willys, DQ, Lighthouse Tiki, Surf Pie, Plaka and many more.

In addition, we say thank you to the thousands who signed our endorsement letter, and the hundreds who took our picture to send back up north to show their friends who might come down as a result.

It is unfortunate that a small cadre of selfish people had to ruin it for everyone, acting as if Times Square was their own personal property and not there for all to benefit.

Thank you and God bless you all for your support.
