Pilot Club welcomes new members; Pilot members prepare for “A Breath of Spring”
At a recent meeting of the Pilot Club of Ft. Myers Beach, five new members were inducted: Anita Cereceda, Joan Beutler, Felice Reed, Linda Smit and Laida Cereceda. President Donna Raymond officiated at the candlelight ceremony.
The Beach Club is a chapter of Pilot International, an organization of business and community leaders with a focus on brain awareness and protection. Locally the Club supports BrainMinder activities at Beach School, senior programs at the Beach Library, beach and bay clean-ups in coordination with Keep Lee County Beautiful, Beach Historical Society and the Pilot Scholarship House at FGCU.
Members are busy with preparations for the club’s tenth annual fashion show, A Breath of Spring, to be held March 28 at the South Beach Grille. Fashions will be by Belk’s Department Store. Tickets are $30 for luncheon, the show, door prizes and raffles. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Pilot Scholarship House at Florida Gulf Coast University and other Pilot Foundation projects.
