Beach churches host food drive

1 min read

The churches of the island are having its sixth annual food drive from Saturday, March 28th to Sunday, March 29th to support the food pantry at Chapel by the Sea.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of the Ascension Church runs the food pantry to help the people of the island who are facing difficult times. With the economy the way it is, a lot more people are in need of food.

Plans for this year’s food drive is to collect enough food to hold over until next November when there is another food drive.

Please drop your donations at any of the churches on the island. We can use chili, corned beef, tuna, chicken, salmon, vienna sausage, ham, beef stew, peanut butter and jelly, breakfast bars, and all types of juices and bottled water.

Please do not bring food that needs refrigeration.
