Beach art association members display shows

2 min read

Two fine shows are currently hanging in the Fort Myers Beach Art Association gallery for all to enjoy. The members have gathered some of their new work and have them displayed in Studio 1.

There is a wide range of subject matter as well as styles and media. Many are views of the beach icons we so know and love.

In Studio 2 the “Outdoor” painters have hung some of their work done over the past years. All these hardy souls get out early in the morning in all sorts of weather, battlling the bugs and elements to capture local scenery with their paintbrush. Gordon Ross has headed this group for several years and and included some of his personal collection in the show. These paintings were done by members no longer painting and are a joy to behold.

Raffle tickets for the Maya Bryant painting will be drawin at the Potluck on April 2. Tickets are still on sale and benefit the Scholarship Awards to be given in April. The last of the mini master small paintings are on sale as well.

On April 15 the School and Scholarship Show sponsored by Fort Myers Beach Art Association and the Town of Fort Myers Beach will be received and judged at the gallery. Awards will be given at the reception on April 26 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The gallery on Donora & Shellmound (at the blinking light off Estero Blvd) is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
