16-year old arrested for attempted murder

On March 20 at approximately 11:49 p.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Trelis Road and Oriole Road in Fort Myers in reference to a stabbing.

When deputies arrived on scene, they met with the complainant, Jason Pinkerton, age 31, sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle and suffering from multiple stab wounds. As deputies provided first aid, Pinkerton identified his stepson, Justin Tetreault, as the suspect.

Deputies established a perimeter while the Lee County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and Aviations Units responded to assist in the search for the suspect. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to assume the investigation. A short time later, Justin Deems Tetreault, age 16, was located and detained without incident.

Meanwhile, Pinkerton was transported to an area hospital via helicopter. He is currently listed in serious condition and is expected to recover.

Tetreault has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder. He was transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.
