The Best Western Beach Resort, a family owned business, recently received this month’s Beautification Recognition award in the commerical division, according to Lois Poff, administrative assistant for community development for the town of Fort Myers Beach.

Best Western, originally built in 1976, received a perfect approval rating on the company’s building inspection before reopening in mid-December last year. It had invested $5.1 million on a complete restoration project at its resort.

“Representatives from the town came by, took a few pictures and couldn’t say enough on how great the place looks,” said Jeff Malbon, a managing partner at Best Western. “We appreciate it very much.”
