A veritable smorgasbord for artists
Choose your favorite medium, or explore another. There will be something for everyone this spring at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association Gallery. Local artists (all FMBAA members) will teach workshops in oil, watercolor, acrylic and silver jewelry. Some classes can be taken for one, two or three days. All classes are $60 per person per day with the exception of Dannica’s which is $50. Classes are open to members and non-members.
Mary Anne Devos – precious metal clay
Feb 5 and 6 (Thurs and Fri) 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. $60 per person per day plus supplies. PMC works like modeling clay but the finished products are solid fine silver. Class participants will learn the proper techniques for creating unusual jewelry pieces to take home. Mary Anne has taught here before to enthusiastic students.
Carl Schwartz – acrylic
Feb 16 and 17 (Mon and Tues) 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. $60 per person per day.
Carl is a nationally recognized artist who teaches at WGCU. He is noted for realistic portrayals of botanicals, koi, and tropical landscapes, Many members have requested this workshop.
Dannica Walker watercolor
February 19 and 20 (Thurs and Fri) $50 per person per day 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Dannica is a local award winner (she took first place in our winter juried show). We hope she’ll show us some of her techniques for florals, figures and felines.

Mar 1 (Sunday) 4 p.m. Demo (In preparation for his workshop this week).

Neil was the first place winner in our fall show. A realist, he works in oil, watercolor and acrylic, both in studio and en plein air.
Fred Dingler all media
March 26, 27, 28 (Thurs, Fri Sat) $60 per person per day (half-day $35.00).
This popular instructor returns to us again. Fred works with beginners to advanced each at their own pace, in their own medium in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring unfinished works, or start on a new project. On Saturday, Fred will concentrate on portraits from photos.

The gallery is located on Donora and Shellmound, at the blinking light off Estero Blvd. Hours are 10-3 Monday -Saturday and 12-3 on Sunday. We are a working gallery with art on display and for sale. Currently showing the Winter Juried Show featuring artists from the SWF Art Council as well as members. Your can visit any time during open hours and may find some of our artists working on new paintings. We are always seeing new members. Come visit and join us!!
