What better way to beat the summer heat ?than with some beer and ice cream!

Join the Young Professionals for Animal Protection (YAP) for a beer and ice cream pairing, Saturday, Aug. 19 at Point Ybel Brewing Company, 16120 San Carlos Blvd., as specialty brews are beautifully paired with homemade Love Boat Ice Cream samplings, all while supporting the Senior Paws Sanctuary.

Surprisingly, many beer brews go very well with ice cream; they’re called beer floats, and there will be plenty a-scoopin’ and a-flowin’ Aug. 19.

Kids are welcome to join the fun, as well, enjoying beer-free scoops of ice cream.

Take part in the raffle auctions and 50/50s, and get ready to have your heart melted by the wonderful pets that will be available for adoption during the event.

Organizers said all money raised will go directly to Senior Paws Sanctuary, which is a locally recognized 501-c3 no-kill animal rescue in Southwest Florida, staffed entirely by volunteers, focusing primarily on senior dogs. The dogs they pull primarily come from local shelters and if they’re not seniors they have medical needs and are asked to become involved.
