The Veteran’s Club of America Post #1, a.k.a. The L’il Club, 16701 San Carlos Blvd., is proud to host a fun and relaxing day during its fifth annual Beach Bash Benefit, Saturday, Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Raising funds for the many non-profit platforms it supports, members of the club are eager to host the all-day celebration to help numerous local groups. Pauline Delisle, bar manager and “CEO” of the club explains, “We raise funds to donate to the Wounded Warriors Project, the Ronald McDonald House, the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, the local police and fire departments, anyone we can help.”

Enjoy plenty of fresh food, barbecued goodies and baked treats, like hamburgers, hot dogs and more, live music, games and prizes.

“We’re going to have three bands playing throughout the day, each for two-hour sets, with raffles called off in between,” Pauline said. “Come by and enjoy the music of Bubba, Kenny and Phil Oxford.”

Raffle prizes include many golf retreats, island restaurant gift certificates and a great variety of other items to raffle off. “So far, we have 98 prizes, all donated from several wonderful local businesses thank you to everyone who has made a donation for our benefit raffle so far they are all very much appreciated and greatly helps support and fuel our cause!”

The first prize raffle prize is $500 cash. On top of all those excellent raffles, plenty of 50/50s and other games will take place throughout the day.

Last year, the benefit managed raise more than $7,000 for their local charities. This year, Pauline is hoping for an even greater turnout.

“This benefit started on the beach five years ago, and this is the second year we’re hosting it at our club. It’s continued to get bigger and bigger, and we’re hoping this year’s is the biggest turnout to date. All donations are tax deductible, and it’s just going to be a great big beach bash barbecue, so all are welcome to come out, have fun and support our many great causes.”

There is no cost to enter the BBQ benefit, and the benefit is open for everyone whether or not they are members of the club. For further information on the annual event, call 239-466-3177.
