Time to GRILL: Popeyepalooza IV Sept. 1
Once again raising funds for the local Fort Myers Beach Youth Soccer League, Popeypalooza will be rocking the doors of Valerie’s Lounge, 17264 San Carlos Blvd., in the Indian Creek Shopping Plaza, Sunday, Sept. 1, starting at noon.
Throughout the benefit, look forward to lots of raffles, prizes and 50/50s; live music from such famed local talent as Dave Collaton, Sundance Dave, Smack Daddy and Wallow Sound; and, what’s Popeyepalooza without the dynamite barbecued goodness of Mike “Popeye” Dearden, right? Popeye is not only the founder and lead coordinator of the event, but the chef who keeps the crowd licking their fingers and coming back for more.
Event T-shirts will also be available, as well as a cornhole tournament.
“Let’s have a party, Popeye-style!” Popeye cheered. “There’s nothing more important for us to support than our youth, so let’s let ’em play! See you at the show!”
