All-out jam session Mondays at Bonita Bill’s
Bonita Bill’s was always a hoppin’ spot Monday nights during the weekly Three Old Hippies jam sessions. But, now Monday nights are going to get even hotter at the waterfront cafe, as two additionally phenomenal local musicians have joined the mix of this happenin’ funky bunch.
Along with Space Ghost on bass and vocals and Danny North on guitar and vocals, get ready to rock to the sounds of T-Bone Funk on drums and Steve “The Lucky Dog” Lutke on guitar.
“Our jam sessions have really been getting more and more popular especially with T-Bone and Steve Lutke joining us,” Space Ghost said. “T-Bone plays the drums every week, and you can catch Steve on guitar here and there. Usually, if he’s not on stage, he’s in the audience singing along.”
The weekly Monday night jam sessions run from 6 p.m. “until the boat comes in,” the KeyWest Express boat, that is, usually around 9 to 9:30 p.m., and all those interested in bringing their instruments and music-makers are welcome to join in on the collaboration.
If you don’t feel like you’re musically inclined, no worries. Just sit back and enjoy the show.
Space Ghost, always seen rocking a cool bandana of some sort, has been offering an additionally fun spectacle during jam-night breaks rock and roll trivia!
The famed musician asks the audience trivia questions of all difficulties all based around the rock and roll music scene and if an audience member guesses the right answer they win one of Space Ghost’s popular bandanas!
“Our trivia has gone over so well and everyone really loves winning a bandana,” Space Ghost said. “Come on out to our jam sessions at Bonita Bill’s Monday night, and don’t forget to wear your bandana. It’s something that’s different than anything else on Fort Myers Beach especially on a Monday night.”
Little Doris is one of the regulars of the jam sessions, who just turned 101. Nine times out of 10, Space Shost said you can catch her dancing on the dance floor and strumming away during the show.
