The Mary Winner Band: Local group keeps the audience begging for more
For more than 20 years, Mary Winner and her very close-knit and talented musical friends have entertained the isle of Fort Myers Beach, offering music fans a journey into pure rock and roll, R&B, funk and soul.
Musicians within the Mary Winner Band can change and morph from one performance to the next, but the high-grade of talent and love of music stays the same every single time.
“We usually play with four or five musicians, including Greg Watts, Steve ‘The Lucky Dog’ Lutke, Jo List, Mark List, T-Bone and Dave Potter,” Mary said.
The multiple-award-winning musician is eager to speak about what her band brings to the table.
“We’re high energy and great harmonies we’re so big on harmony it’s our passion,” she said. “Our mantra is ‘Keep Music Live.'”
Usually performing a fantastic variety of rock covers, every once in a while, you may here a great original, too.
“Come on out and dance with us under the stars,” she said. “We do Rock n’ Roll, R&B and classic rock, and some fun beach music from time to time, like ‘Time for a Cool Change’ by the Little River Band. We really offer a great variety as a band. We’ve been entertaining on the beach for 20 years, and we truly love what we do, so come down, party and dance with the Mary Winner Band, because we’re ready to rock!”
The Mary Winner Band (performing as Habitat for Harmony) plays every Wednesday atop the Surf Club’s new outside deck, starting at 8 p.m., and coming up, they’ll be at Doc Ford’s Saturday, Nov. 3, as well as Nervous Nellie’s from time to time.
