The Love Gypsy: Local author releases new supernatural novella
Famed local author, columnist and movie reviewer, now working under a pen name, Mary Tatarian, a.k.a. Mariah Lynne, is proud to offer romantic-mystery fans a brand new novella that dabbles in murder, mystery, the supernatural and the macabre.
Titled “The Love Gypsy,” Mariah’s latest piece takes readers on a journey into the past through supernatural time travel, to uncover a mystery that’s just too good to solve on her own.
“‘The Love Gypsy is a paranormal time-traveling romance about Brianna, a Fort Myers police detective, who is so busy working, hunting down criminals and solving murders, she doesn’t have time to date. Her best friend takes matters into her own hands, and brings her to The Love Gypsy, who specializes in match-making, as well as a friend to time travelers,” Mariah said. “During the session, a handsome man bursts into the room who captures her interest. All of a sudden, a murder happens, and with a smoking gun and a vintage car, Brianna is put hot on the trail of a criminal. She doesn’t know if her newfound lover from another time is a murderer or a savior, but she’s willing to risk a journey through time to find out.”
The 100-page novella is a hot one, with the adventures of a suspense novel and the passion of a romance one.
Mary, a.k.a. Mariah, is also the author of “Seabliss,” a cozy island mystery, and wanted to try something a little different.
“I wanted to try and write a fun romance, to see if I’d be able to do it. I was so happy that I did. It’s a fun read, and I’m already working on the sequel,” she said. “The paranormal is a mystery to many people there are some who have psychic abilities, and there are some in the science field who are trying to work with time travel. It’s fascinated people for a long time, and it always leads to a fun story, which is why I?enjoy writing about it.”
The romance review site “Two Lips Reviews” wrote, “‘The Love Gypsy’ is a well thought- out time travel, and that’s saying something, because time travel books are difficult to write ‘The Love Gypsy’ is a very entertaining story with a lovely, satisfying end delightful.”
The local author has been interested in the supernatural, paranormal and the idea of time-travel for some time, and enjoys weaving intricate twists and turns within her stories.
“Like Back to the Future, Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Time Machine, it’s so fun bringing history into the present,” she said. “I’m very proud of the novella, and I hope you get the chance to read it.”
