Rockin’ another birthday

What other way to celebrate your birthday but do it on the beach, right? A birthday party for local rocker Stet Howland will be held at the Beach Pub (1668 I St.) Saturday, Aug. 14, with the celebration kicking off at 2 p.m.
Plenty of live music will take place, with John and Daizy performing as Elijah kicking off the tunes around 2 p.m., followed by the Stet.TV Band and special musical guests throughout the day.
“This will kind of be set up like another episode of Stet.TV, with a camera crew interviewing party guests, sharing fun stories and stuff like that,” said fellow musician John Hyatt, guitarist for the Stet.TV Band, along with T-Bone on bass. “T-Bone and I wish Stet a very happy birthday. He is a great friend and an awesome musician.”
Lou Caleca, owner of the Beach Pub, said he’ll be offering buckets of beer specials throughout the day, and everyone is invited to come and celebrate the big 5-0 with the birthday drummer.
“Come down and tell your favorite story of Stet,” John said.
Rain or shine, unless there’s a complete monsoon, this party is taking place so don’t be scared away from a few sprinkles.
“Many people are flying in from all over the country to make it to this party,” John said. “So, it’s happening rain or shine.”
Stet.TV director Mike Wright and the rest of the Stet.TV crew also wish the drummer a very happy birthday.
“Happy birthday to a great friend,” he said.
“Come one, come all. We’re gonna have a blast,” said Lou.
The live entertainment will go until 7 p.m., and the cameras will be rolling long after that.
“This party will be set up as an episode from Stet.TV,” John said. “This time, the special guests are everyone at the party, sharing their experiences with Stet. So, come on down!”
